I’m feeling good today. Woke up again last night but was able to go back to sleep. GI tract is feeling good again too. Taking the digestive enzymes at the end of the meal is helping, as well as the 2 charcoal capsules per day, the diet, decreasing stress and the LDN. I am very happy that I’m seeing the positive results of the changes that I’m making.
I had an appointment with my endocrinologist today. I go every six months mostly to get an ultrasound of my thyroid. The conventional view of Hashimoto’s is so different than the functional view. They told me that the level of antibodies doesn’t matter and that I don’t need to check them again. I disagree as do many thyroid experts. It makes sense that if the antibodies are higher that there will be more of an attack on the thyroid. I didn’t bother going into it with the endo.
The doctor did my ultrasound and remarked how good my thyroid looked. Wait a minute! Last year when he did the ultrasound my thyroid looked like “swiss cheese” and was very inflamed. He said that if he didn’t know that I was taking meds and just looked at ultrasound he wouldn’t know there was anything wrong with my thyroid. What?!?!
The doctor said that if my thyroid looked this good next time we might try going off of meds. He asked me what I was doing besides meds. I looked at him knowing he would tune out as soon as I said diet, lifestyle changes, supplements…..he was zoned out. He said just keep doing what I was doing and he’d see me in 6 months.
VALIDATION!!! All of this work is making a difference!! Not only am I starting to feel it in my GI tract but my thyroid is showing it too. I’m very happy and thankful that I refused to take the traditional route and did the work to learn and make changes. I’m so happy about this.
