I woke up feeling pretty good. No aches no pains and only had to go to the bathroom a couple of times this morning. Scraping pains definitely down to a spoon. I decided to stay on the intro diet one more day. It’s recommended to stay on the intro diet from 2-5 days depending on symptoms. Since I’m not feeling great and I can tolerate 1 more day of chicken soup, carrots and jello I’m gonna give my body 1 more day.

I decided to listen to what my Ayruvedic Guru and my functional medicine doctor have both recommended to me and do an enema. My Ayurvedic Guru suggested an oil enema and the doc suggested a probiotic enema so I combined the 2 into one treatment. The idea with the oil is to nourish the colon which helps it to heal. The probiotics weren’t getting to where they needed to by taking them by mouth so why not put them straight into where they need to go. This is the kit that I used: Stainless Steel Enema Kit
It wasn’t as unpleasant as one would imagine and I actually felt better about an hour afterwards. I used a stainless steel enema container and the tube that came with it but there was no way I was using the plastic insertion piece that came with it. Yup…whatever you’re imagining is probably right on so I used the small insertion tube that was hermetically sealed that also came with it. I recommend buying the ,disposable enema tubes as they are very thin and you barely feel it. I also recommend doing it when you’re alone at home so you can relax and not worry about little ones or husband knocking on the door wanting to come in.
I warmed up a cup of organic sesame to about 95 degrees then added in ½ tsp of Klaire Ther Biotic Powder I put the mixture into the stainless steel container. I laid down on the bathroom floor with a pillow to prop my head on and inserted the tube and began the flow of oil. The whole process took about a half hour to for the oil to go in.
This is called a retention enema which means you’re supposed to hold it in as long as you can to nourish your colon. This is different than other enemas whose purpose is to produce a poop. I was able to resist the urge to go for about an hour which is pretty good for my first time. After pooping I felt much better and lighter. I imagined my colon being happy and nourished too.
